how to drag and drop photos from photos to memory stick

I'm not sure your problem makes all that much sense, I don't quite get the relevance of the female hormones.

In Photos select the photos and export to a desktop folder (file menu ==> export) then using the finder drag that folder to the mounted, unlocked memory stick - after they are on the MS you can delete the folder from the desktop and empty the trash

You need to explain what you are trying to do and what you are using. I have no problems dragging and dropping photos from my Photos app straight onto a memory stick, no need here to mess about with a 2 step fandango to my desktop either. I can also export them direct to the memory stick using the file > export option.

Are your photos referenced or is there something else unusual about them.

Where are you trying to export them from, this is the Photos app community.

As I explained that is the sure way to do it

Drag an drop is not good since you only get a medium quality preview with limited Metadata at best and it does not always work

Likewise direct export the the Memory stick will not always work if the memory stick is formatted FAT as FAT limits the number of files at the root level - the only general answer that always works is to export to a desktop folder and then drag that folder to the memory stick - any other method may or may not wokr and may or may not give the desired results
